Manuel was born in 1985 in Teococucilco, in the Sierra Juárez mountain range in Oaxaca. He studied the graphic arts at the Casa de la Cultura in Oaxaca as well as in Minnesota. Manuel was an apprentice to the late Alejandro Santiago, collaborating with him on paintings, etchings and ceramics. He has also worked with the following Oaxacan artists: Rosendo Pinacho, Emiliano López, Amador Montes and Eddy Martínez. Recently he was a member of Rosendo Pinacho's team of artists creating a ceramic mural for the city of Miami.
He has exhibited his work extensively in Mexico and internationally.
